Insurance claim for damages due to poor maintenance of building.? - share of freehold building insurance
Last year I bought a first floor with a share of freehold house in a mid-terrace.
The building showed cracks to jump to a fall from my window. My buyers investigation report reflected that situation.
Now, after twelve months have finally agreed to repair the building at our last meeting.
A few days before the rain came through the roof and damaged my wooden floors.
This property is not properly maintained, and that I am responsible for the maintenance, shared responsibility, I can be a liability for damage to my apartment?
In my defense, I can say that I have always raised to repair the other property owners.
I bought a scarf around the bay cover to protect the building from further damage. Unfortunately, the former owner, a director member of the limited liability company, to have ignored my requests to do so.
Who pays for my loss?

I think he has a difficult task to keep the maintenance costs of the poor against the insurance company and I'm sure if you will read the policy, the insurance will not pay for wear and poor law job. On the other hand, is your best option to share costs with their fellow director, and, if necessary, to the court. I know he will not talk to you again, but business and friendship are two different things. Good luck!
I've seen this question before. Thus, other owners are not listening?

This seems to be a reason for the small claims court. It is simple, inexpensive and does not need a lawyer.
